Visit Details
Located in the outskirts of the town of Salobreña in Granada, the El Mondero Rum Distillery is one of the main rum distilleries in the Costa Tropical. To find out how they make their products, we'll meet at the indicated time at the entrance to their facilities.
We'll start this visit to the El Mondero Rum Distillery by touring their sugar cane plantations. During the tour, we'll discover how they carry out the cultivation and we'll learn about the main harvesting techniques that they use.
Next, we'll visit the inside of the distillery, where we'll see the process of making rum from sugar cane. Throughout the visit, you'll also learn about the history of this product, whose origins date back to the 15th and 16th centuries, when the first distillates were made on the islands of the Caribbean Sea.
Finally, we'll conclude this 1-hour tour in the tasting room. Here, we'll enjoy a tasting of a rum, a liqueur and a sugar cane honey. If you opt for the premium tasting, we'll also taste 5 limited edition 15-year-old rums.
