Explore Kralendijk on an urban safari truck tour, visiting local neighborhoods, the main street, and Serru Largu hill. An essential experience in Bonaire’s capital!
Tour Details
At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel or at the Kralendijk cruise port to start this tour aboard an urban safari truck. As soon as the vehicle starts moving, we'll head into the heart of the city. Are you ready?
First, we'll see the pastel-colored facades of Kaya Grandi. There, we'll contemplate the legacy of the Dutch merchants and the prosperous salt trade dating back to the 19th century. We'll see carved wooden balconies, lively cafés, and shops filled with the sweet aroma of fruit.
We'll leave the center of Kralendijk behind and head towards the residential neighborhood of Antriol and Nord Salinja. There, among bougainvillea-covered patios, we'll see the ceramic heads that guard the houses. We'll feel the pulse of this area of the island as we watch children on bicycles waving with a smile and breathe in the salty air coming from the nearby salt flats.
Then, we'll climb Seru Largu, the large hill that dominates the area. We'll stop on this mountain for 15 minutes to breathe in the Caribbean breeze, while admiring the silhouette of the island of Klein Bonaire floating in the turquoise sea. If the sky is clear, we'll even be able to see Curaçao on the horizon.
Lastly, we'll cross Nord Salinja until we reach Parke Isidel. There we'll find the Bonaire sign, the perfect setting for taking our last photos before returning to the starting point.
Finally, we'll say goodbye after 1 hour and 15 minutes of touring.
Pickup
This tour includes pickup at the cruise port and hotels in downtown Kralendijk. If you're staying outside this area, you must go to the meeting point at South Pier Mall.
