Tour Details

We'll meet in central Catania and there, we'll climb aboard an off-roading vehicle and start on our way to Mount Etna, leaving the city behind. Ready to explore one of the most famous volcanoes in the world?

As we ascend the slopes of Mount Etna, your guide will explain all about the great historical and biological importance of this natural park, declared a World Heritage Site. In fact, this volcano is even mentioned in classical texts more than 2700 years old!

During this off-road tour of Etna, we'll combine car rides with short hikes that will allow you to get the full scope of the surrounding landscape. You'll get a chance to check out the local flora and fauna and learn about the richness of Etna's land for agriculture.

We'll take you through ancient forests, show you caves formed from solidified lava, and walk close to inactive volcano craters. We'll also take you to Bove Valley. Once there, we'll visit a small local store, where you'll taste some typical Sicilian products. Yum!

We'll end the tour 5.5 hours later, arriving back at the starting point in Catania.

Tour with Lunch (6 Hours)

Want to extend your experience? You can book this off-road tour of Etna with lunch to enjoy the exquisite flavors of Sicily. If you choose this option, we'll stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a menu consisting of a starter, a main course and a cannoli for dessert. Soft drinks, water, wine, coffee and a liqueur will also be included.

Additional Info

Please note that the off-road tour will be on paved roads and not on dirt tracks, as it is forbidden to access the dirt roads that run through the volcano with any vehicle. Depending on the weather and road conditions, the tour may be conducted in a minivan.
