Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Catania to begin our day trip to the Valley of the Temples and the Scala dei Turchi ("Stair of the Turks"). Are you ready to discover two of Sicily's gems?
During the journey via minibus, we'll share with you tons of facts about the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, a site that you'll visit at your own pace once we arrive. Among its seven perfectly preserved temples, the Temple of Concordia stands out, which was key for this archaeological site to be recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Close by, you'll be able to admire the remains of other temples dedicated to gods such as Juno, Hercules, Hephaestus, and Athena. Afterward, we'll stop for lunch at the bar at the Archeological Museum of Pietro Griffo, located within the archeological complex. The menu includes sandwiches with the region's traditional products, water, and wine.
Later, we'll head to the Scala dei Turchi, a spectacular and strikingly white rock formation that emerges from the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea as giant stairs.
Here, you'll learn about marl, a rock that gives this natural wonder its characteristic color, and we'll tell you fascinating stories about the origin of this landmark's name. Then, you'll have free time to explore the area at your own pace.
Finally, we'll return to Catania, where we'll drop you off at your hotel after this day trip of 9-9.5 hours.
Itinerary Order
Please note that the order of the visits will be decided on the day of the trip, depending on the weather conditions and the group's preference. In any case, a stop at the bar at the Archeological Museum of Pietro Griffo is guaranteed.
Children Under 3
Please note that children under 3 must pay their own ticket if they occupy a seat on the minibus.
Low Season
Please note that during the low season (from November to March), the trip must have at least 4 people in order to be conducted. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we'll contact you to offer an alternative date.
