Learn about the beautiful story of a winery that makes delicious and intense products on our Pittacum Vineyards & Winery Visit. We'll also get to taste some of their wines during our visit.
Pittacum Vineyards & Winery Visit
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance of Pittacum Vineyards & Winery, just behind the Parish Church of La Asunción de Arganza, for our guided visit.
Our tour will begin with a stroll through this 80-year-old vineyard while discovering why the Mencía grape variety was a turning point in the creation of this place. We'll learn some fascinating facts about the wine of El Bierzo and how the old vines were recovered.
Next, we'll enter the estate's 19th-century manor house to visit its rooms and see the barrels where the wine is stored. While the winery was being built, a Roman medallion of Bacchus and an amphora called Pittacum were discovered.
We'll then move on to everyone's favourite part of the visit: the wine tasting. During this part of the visit, we'll taste a Petit Pittacum and a Pittacum accompanied by a snack typical of the region.
Having spent the morning learning lots about Pittacum's wines, we'll say our goodbyes at the winery's entrance after a 90-minute visit.
Children under 18 years old
Children under the age of 18 can take part in this activity and visit both the vineyards and the winery. However, the wine tasting activity with food and wine pairing is only open to adults.
