We'll meet at Plaza Iglesia in Yela at the designated time. From there, we'll start this hiking route through the Quejigares de Barriopedro & Brihuega.
Located in the valley of the central stretch of the Tajuña River, this protected wooded area boasts a great variety of species, such as holm oaks, gall oaks, willows and poplars. As you take in the beautiful natural landscapes of the province of Guadalajara, we'll tell you interesting facts about everything we see.
During the hiking route, you'll also see lots of small mammals that live in the area, like genets, wildcats and badgers, so keep your eyes peeled! The route, about 13 kilometers long, will take us to Civica, a village carved into the rock.
This abandoned place is full of caves, terraces, arches and passages that form an architectural treat in the middle of the Alcarria. Here, you'll learn about the history of this recent construction by Don Aurelio, and we'll tell you the fascinating story of Civica!
At the end of the tour, we'll return to the starting point in Yela, arriving after a total of about 4 hours.
