On this day trip to the Hato Caves and flamingo sanctuary, we'll learn about the indigenous roots of Curaçao island and visit beautiful beaches!
Tour Options
When making your reservation, you can choose between two options. Both include hotel pickup and drop-off, a guide and admission fees to the mentioned sites.
Below, you'll find a brief description of each route:
4-Hour Tour
Following the Franklin D. Roosevelt Highway, we'll arrive at the enigmatic Hato Caves. We'll enter this cave system and, for 1.5 hours, explore the subterranean world that was home to the ancient Arawak Amerindian populations. We'll go through galleries full of stalagmites and stalactites, sculpted by nature itself.
Next, we'll go to the flamingo sanctuary in the salt flats of Sint Michiel. We'll make a 15-minute photo stop to marvel at these elegant birds as we're surrounded by more than 100 flamingoes on the waters of this natural site, a unique visual spectacle!
Finally, we'll go in search of Kokomo beach, one of the most beautiful of the island thanks to the intense turquoise colors of the waters that bathe its golden sand. There, we'll leave you 1.5 hours of free time to swim, sunbathe and toast with a refreshing drink. Don't forget to try out the hammocks partially submerged in the sea!
6-Hour Tour
In this case, we'll follow the same itinerary described in the previous section. The big difference will be that, at the end of the visit to the Hato Caves, we'll go to Piskado beach, also known as Grandi beach. There, you'll have 45 minutes of free time to swim with the sea turtles that frequent the sandbanks of these shallow waters, and we'll lend you some snorkeling goggles to watch them better!
Afterward, we'll go in search of the popular Grote Knip, known by many as the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean. Is it true? To find out, we'll leave you 2 hours of free time to enjoy its turquoise waters, which contrast with its white sand. Snorkeling goggles will be provided for you to explore the underwater world surrounding Grote Knip.
Finally, we'll visit the flamingo sanctuary of the Sint Michiel salt pans, and take the same 15-minute tour to take pictures and marvel at these beautiful birds.
Hotel Pickup
This tour includes pickup from all hotels on the island, except Coral Estate and Kunuku Aqua Resort.
