At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Pitas Artisan Centre, a perfect spot to discover the artistic and cultural essence of Sorbas, recognised as a Point of Artisanal Interest by the Regional Government of Andalusia.
More than just learning about a craft, this experience invites you to understand a different way of engaging with the local area and its resources. Over the course of 1 hour, you’ll explore the world of the agave and discover how a plant so deeply rooted in arid landscapes can be transformed into material, culture, music and creativity.
Firstly, we’ll visit the Museum of Unique Instruments, where there's an extensive collection made from this exotic wood. What's not to love?
Afterwards, we'll continue the tour of the workshop by discovering the different cultures from around the world through the sounds. African and Andalusian rhythms will sound through these unusual musical instruments. Amazing!
The following part of the tour will be dedicated to learning about the production process of how these agave wooden handicrafts are made. We'll discover how they come to life through them being carved.
Finally, we'll give you a handmade souvenir from the Pitas Artisan Centre and say our goodbyes.
