Nature and devotion take the stage on this day trip to San Sebastián de Garabandal, a beautiful mountain town in Cantabria famous for its Marian apparitions.
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll set off toward western Cantabria passing the lovely landscapes of the Saja-Nansa Natural Park.
After an approximately 1-hour journey, we'll reach San Sebastián de Garabandal, a beautiful mountain town where various Marian apparitions in the 1960s. Specifically, between 1961 and 1965, four school girls who weren't related confirmed that they saw the apparition of the Archangel Michael and the Virgin Mary.
We'll tell you about these events as we stroll along the town's picturesque streets, where we'll visit the Iglesia de San Sebastián. If you embark on the morning day trip, you'll be able to attend mass in this church, which dates back to the 17th century.
We'll continue our tour of the town in the Santuario de los Pinos, a site where, according to tradition, the school girls saw the apparition of the Virgin Mary. If you go on the day trip on Saturday afternoon, you'll have the chance to pray the rosary in this pine forest.
Finally, we'll start our journey back to the starting point, where we'll conclude this 5.5-hour day trip.

Day Trip from Santander
- We'll depart from your hotel in the center.
- If you're not staying in the capital of Cantabria, or you're staying further away, you'll need to make your way to the following meeting point in the city: the bus stop on Calle Castelar, 25.
In both cases, pickup will take place at 9 am and 3 pm.
Day Trip from Torrelavega
- We'll pick you up at the Pabellón Municipal La Habana Vieja bus stop, located on Calle Pintor Varela s/n, at 9:30 am and 3:30 pm.
