On this day trip to Aveiro, we'll take you to discover Portugal's Venice and explore its Art Nouveau architecture and colorful traditional boats. You're going to love it!
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at a central point in Porto, where we'll board a bus and leave the city behind, heading toward Aveiro, otherwise known as Portugal's Venice. Time to discover this stunning city and its canals!
After around 50 minutes on the road, we'll arrive at our destination and kick off a guided walking tour of Aveiro, taking in its most iconic spots.
Next, we'll enjoy a 45-minute ride aboard one of the traditional Moliceiro boats, similar in design to Venetian gondolas. This boat trip is optional, if you'd prefer to skip it, you'll have 45 minutes of free time to explore Aveiro on your own.
After the boat ride, we'll give you around 1.5 hours of free time to grab a bite and sample the delicious cuisine of northern Portugal. We'll then regroup and head to Costa Nova, one of the most spectacular beaches in the country, famous for the iconic striped houses lining the bay.
We'll continue along the Gaia coast to the Capela do Senhor da Pedra, a chapel built on a rocky outcrop on the shores of the Atlantic. We'll learn about the legends surrounding this quirky little chapel while taking in a truly one-of-a-kind view.
After 7.5 to 8.5 hours, we'll wrap up the day trip back at the starting point.
