On this day trip to Guimarães and Braga, we'll explore the beauty of northern Portugal, discovering one of the most important religious cities in the world and the "birthplace of Portugal."

Braga & Guimarães from Porto

On the day of the trip, we'll meet at the Calçada da Vandoma, and we'll head to the north of Portugal to Braga. Let's go!

Once nce in the city, we'll see the interior of the Sé de Braga and the Santuario do Bom Jesus. We'll then go down into the city, where we'll take a guided tour of the historic center of Braga. On this tour, we'll see the exterior of such iconic monuments as the Episcopal Palace. We'll also walk through the most picturesque streets of its beautiful old town.

Then, before heading down to the city, we'll take a guided tour of the historic center of Braga. On this guided tour, we'll check out the outside of emblematic monuments such as the Episcopal Palace. We'll also walk through the most picturesque streets of its beautiful old town.

Having enjoyed some free time to pass through the city and perhaps do some shopping, we'll hit the road towards Guimarães. Once there, we'll visit the imposing Medieval castle and explore the delightful historic center, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wherever you are in the city, the fortified towers of the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza can be seen jutting above the skyline. Visiting its exterior, we'll note the influence of 14th-century French palaces on the architecture.

Finally, we'll say goodbye at Rua de Alexandre Herculano after 9 hours in total.
