Do you know how French royalty lived? You'll find out on this day trip from Paris, where you'll visit the spectacular Palace of Fontainebleau and Vaux-le-Vicomte. Two architectural gems await us!
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at the entrance of the Hotel Pullman Paris Centre Bercy and travel south of the French capital.
After a journey of approximately 1 hour, we'll arrive at the Palace of Fontainebleau, where your entrance is included. Your ticket also contains a QR code that you can use to download an audio guide in English on your phone. Following its explanations, you'll explore the different rooms.
Fontainebleau is the only royal and imperial palace in France that has been continuously inhabited for seven centuries, from the reign of Francis I to Napoleon III. During your audio guide tour, you'll see Napoleon I's throne and the famous horseshoe staircase. You'll also discover the furniture and decor that characterized different historical periods.
After the visit, you'll have 1 hour of free time to explore the Fontainebleau gardens at your own pace and have lunch at the palace restaurant. Then, we'll return to the bus to continue the day trip to the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, located just 45 minutes away.
At the last palace, you'll also have an included ticket with an audio guide in English. What's more, the little ones can enjoy the visit in 17th-century costumes. They'll have so much fun! During your tour of the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, you'll discover the different rooms of this Baroque gem, whose architecture inspired none other than the Palace of Versailles.
Your ticket also includes access to Nicolas Fouquet's private apartments, the state rooms, the kitchens, and even the wine cellars. You'll also be able to visit the dome's observation deck, from which you can enjoy magnificent views of the gardens surrounding the palace complex.
From the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, we'll finally return to the meeting point in Paris, where arrival is scheduled for 9 hours after pickup.
