Sainte-Chapelle
Also known as the "royal chapel of the Île de la Cité", the Sainte-Chapelle is a beautiful Gothic church listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside, you'll see an extraordinary set of polychrome stained glass windows, considered to be the most beautiful in Paris. Sainte-Chapelle Opening Times
Your visit to the Sainte-Chapelle will take place at the specific time you selected.
The visit to the Conciergerie must take place on the same day as the Sainte-Chapelle and can be done at any time within the following time slots:
- April 1 to September 30: 9 am to 7 pm
- October 1 to March 31: 9 am to 5 pm
Please keep in mind that final admission to the Conciergerie is permitted 40 minutes before closing. Please keep in mind that these times are flexible and may be subject to change on these and other special dates.
Access to the monument is organised in 30-minute passes. For example, if your time is at 10 am, you can enter at that time or at the latest at 10:30 am. You won't be allowed in before your selected time.
We recommend visiting the Sainte-Chapelle in the mornings, when the monument is less crowded.
Conciergerie in Paris
This Gothic palace was once home to the French monarchy during the Middle Ages. However, during the French Revolution, it was turned into a prison, with its most remarkable prisoner being Marie Antoinette before she was executed. You can discover the palatial rooms and wonderful architecture, plus you can head down into the cells and see where the last queen of France spent her final days.
With your ticket to the Conciergerie, you'll receive a free informational leaflet in English and other languages. Guided tours in French are also available free of charge. The tours last about an hour and the timetable varies depending on the day. If you're interested in taking a guided tour in French, check with the staff at the Conciergerie.
Conciergerie Opening Times
You'll be able to visit the Conciergerie on the same day that you visit Saint-Chapelle, at any time within the following hours: 9:30 am to 6 pm.
Final admission is 30 minutes before closing time.

Brochure Languages
The entrance ticket to the Conciergerie includes an explanatory brochure in English and other languages. You can also enjoy a free guided tour in French. The timetable for this optional tour, which lasts 1 hour, varies depending on the day. Please ask the Conciergerie staff when you enter the monument.
Visiting with a HistoPad
To access the monument, you'll be given a HistoPad when you enter the monument. This is an interactive tablet with which you can learn about the history of the monuments through a variety of infographics. The HistoPad is only available until 4:15 pm.
Ticket Options
During the booking process, you can choose between the following options:
- EEA citizen: this ticket is for citizens or residents (more than 4 months) of a country in the European Economic Area. The EEA consists of 27 countries of the European Union, such as Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway. You'll need to present a valid justification at the entrance of the monument (ID or passport).
- Non-EEA citizen: this is the ticket for individual visitors who are neither citizens nor residents (less than 4 months) in a country in the European Economic Area.
