If you're a history buff, you can't miss this day trip to Mont-Saint-Michel from Paris. You'll visit Omaha Beach, one of the main beaches of the Normandy landings.
Day Trip Details
We'll meet at the designated time at the entrance of the Hotel Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile in Paris. From this spot in the French capital, we'll hop on a bus and head to Normandy.
Halfway through the trip, we'll make a brief stop. After approximately 3.5 hours, we'll reach Omaha Beach, one of the main beaches of the Normandy landings. Here, we'll embark on a 1.5-hour guided tour to learn about the history of the events that took place on its coasts on June 6, 1944.
You'll discover how the Allied landing took place and see the memorial monuments that honor the fallen soldiers in this historic event that shaped the course of World War II. We'll also discuss some of the most famous f¡movies that recreate this moment.
Next, we'll leave Omaha Beach behind and continue our tour along the coast of Normandy toward Mont-Saint-Michel. Depending on the tides, this small village is either an island or a peninsula. Upon arrival, you'll have about 2 hours of free time to grab some lunch and explore the village's picturesque streets at your own pace.
If you've opted for the tour option that includes admission to the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, you can visit the interior of this architectural gem from the Middle Ages. You'll notice how both Romanesque and Gothic styles come together perfectly! With this option, you'll be able to explore the refectory, chapel, cloister, and the different rooms of the abbey, which have become some of the most visited monuments in France.
Finally, from Mont-Saint-Michel, we'll begin our journey back to the meeting point in Paris, where we'll conclude this 15-hour activity.
