Dumplings, pretzels, strudel... South Tyrolean delicacies are many and delicious. Discover and taste them with us on this Bolzano Food Tour!
Bolzano Food Tour
We'll meet our guide at 11:30 am in the Town Hall Square to start a walk through the historic centre of Bolzano in search of the most authentic flavours of the local cuisine. Good forks at the ready... We're off!
During our tour, we'll make at least four stops at typical restaurants and bars, often only known to the locals. In these sanctuaries of taste and tradition, we'll taste the delicacies that characterise Bolzano's gastronomy.
In addition to pretzels, the classic apple strudel or speck, we'll sample the typical canederli, sometimes called knödel, which are dumplings made from stale bread, often topped with cheese. We'll also enjoy bauernschinken, a delicious flavoured ham, and laugenbrot, a regional bread which is soaked in a bicarbonate solution before being baked.
Of course, there will also be excellent South Tyrolean beer, the perfect drink to accompany the strong flavours of South Tyrolean cuisine: from the lightest to the most intense and aromatic, the choice will be hard!
Finally, we'll enjoy a good espresso coffee, the best way to end this delicious 3 hour tour.
