When booking, you can choose from these two available options:
Admission to The Jewish Museum and The Portuguese Synagogue
This option is perfect for discovering the community’s traditions, art and religious architecture. It includes access to:
- Jewish Museum (Joods Museum + junior): housed in four former Ashkenazi synagogues, it holds over 300,000 works of art and historical documents. You’ll discover pieces by artists such as Charlotte Salomon, and an excellent interactive space for children.
- Portuguese Synagogue: an imposing 17th-century temple inspired by Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem. You’ll be amazed by its colossal stone columns, wooden ceilings and gilded chandeliers, as well as the fact that it houses one of the oldest Jewish libraries in the world.
Full Access Pass
The ultimate pass for a complete historical immersion. Includes access to the 4 major attractions in the cultural quarter:
- Jewish Museum
- Portuguese Synagogue
- National Holocaust Museum: This is housed in a former school, which was used by the Nazis as a deportation centre for Jews. Photographs, artefacts, clothing and interactive displays will help you understand what life was like for Dutch Jews who were persecuted during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.
- Hollandsche Schouwburg: This is a former theatre where Jews sent by the Nazis to concentration camps were held. In this place, now a memorial, you will see various photographs and documents intended to preserve the memory of all those who suffered the horrors of the Holocaust.

Open every day of the week, from 11 am to 5 pm.
Portuguese Synagogue
- January and December: Sunday to Thursday, from 10 am to 4 pm; and Friday from 10 am to 2 pm
- February: Sunday to Thursday, from 10 am to 5 pm; and Friday from 10 am to 2 pm
- March and April: Sunday to Thursday, from 10 am to 5 pm; and Friday from 10 am to 4 pm
- May, June, July and August: Sunday to Friday, 11 am to 5 pm
- September and October: Sunday to Thursday, 11 am to 5 pm; and Friday, 11 am to 4 pm
- November: Sunday to Thursday, 11 am to 5 pm; and Friday, 11 am to 2 pm
- Closed every Saturday
National Holocaust Museum and Hollandsche Schouwburg
Open daily from 11 am to 5 pm, except:
- Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah and King’s Day: closed on these days
- January 1: opens at 12 pm
Children under 5
Children under 5 can visit for free and do not need to book a ticket.
