Scuba Diving in São Miguel
At the selected time, we'll meet at the Vila Franca do Campo Marina. We'll put on the diving equipment and board a boat to start the activity. Are you ready to explore the underwater beauty of the south of São Miguel? We'll enjoy a spectacular dive!
We'll sail along the south coast of the island of São Miguel and reach the islet of Vila Franca do Campo in search of the best dive sites. The exact location of the dives will depend on tide conditions that day.
Now it's time to get into the water! We'll dive in the open sea and, accompanied by the guide at all times, we'll begin to discover the sea wildlife of the Azores. As we swim we'll spot bream, huge groupers, moray eels, moray eels... Amazing, right?
What's more, we'll see how the volcanic soil provides the most beautiful underwater scenery. And not only that, the dives will also allow us to discover the remains of some shipwrecks and ancient anchors dating back to the 18th century.
Lastly, we'll return by boat to the starting point, ending this diving experience after a total of 3 hours.
Necessary Documentation
In order to take part in this diving experience, it is necessary to have the international Open Water certificate or a similar document that certifies that you are capable to do this activity.
In addition, you'll have to fill out a medical form upon arrival to assess your physical condition. If you have a serious medical condition, you will have to present a medical certificate.
