Why Visit the Palace of Versailles?
Located in the region of Ile de France and only one hour from Paris, the Palace of Versailles was declared a World Heritage Site in 1979. This building is one of the great monuments erected by French royalty.
In the second half of the 17th century, the former hunting lodge of Louis XIII was transformed by the order of King Louis XIV into a sumptuous palace, settling his court in Versailles.
With this skip-the-line entrance to the Palace of Versailles, you can visit the rooms and the following areas of the complex at your leisure:
Palace of Versailles
Also known as Château de Versailles, this palace has 2300 rooms spread over 63154 square meters. Particularly noteworthy are the Gallery of Battles, the Great Royal Apartments, the Rooms of Louis XIV and the Gallery of Ladies. You can't miss the Hall of Mirrors, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed, which put an end to the First World War.
Your ticket will also allow you to visit the temporary exhibitions usually organised in the palace. Please note that to access the Palace of Versailles you'll have to choose a specific time of visit.
Carriage Gallery
In this room, located in the Grande Écurie, you'll see an extensive collection of carriages used by French royalty during the Ancien Régime, the Empire and the Restoration. Highlights include the carriages of Marie Antoinette and her children, as well as different hand chairs and sleighs.
Sculptures & Mouldings Gallery
It's a room located in the Petit Écurie that has a large display of copies of ancient Greek and Roman statues. These works contributed to embellishing both the palace and the gardens of Versailles.
Versailles Gardens
The gardens of the Palace of Versailles are a masterpiece of landscaping. We recommend taking a stroll among the flowerbeds and orange trees of the Orangerie. Also noteworthy are the ornamental fountains, which are part of a large sculptural ensemble.
Your ticket includes the fountain show of the Great Musical Waters. Between April and June, it takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. In July and August, from Tuesday to Sunday. In September and October, you can enjoy the show on Tuesdays and from Thursday to Sunday.
Palace Park
Beyond the palace gardens extends the great park of Versailles. This immense green area extends naturally thanks to two immense aquifers: the Grand Canal and the Pièce d'eau des Suisses. The park covers an area of approximately 800 hectares and is laid out along straight paths that delimit wooded areas and cultivated fields.
Petit Trianon & Grand Trianon
Located at the eastern end of Versailles park is the picturesque Trianon. It's a beautiful garden area where you can visit the palaces of the Petit Trianon and the Grand Trianon. The Trianon also has the Queen's Village, a small space that recreated rural life.

Palace of Versailles
- Tuesday to Sunday: 9 am to 6:30 pm (until 5:30 pm from November 1 to March 31).
- Last admission is at 6 pm (5 pm from November 1 to March 31), and the ticket office closes at 5:45 pm (4:50 pm from November 1 to March 31).
Carriage Gallery
- Saturdays and Sundays: 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm (until 5:30 pm from November 1 to March 31).
- Last admission is at 5:45 pm (until 4:45 pm from November 1 to March 31).
Sculptures & Mouldings Gallery
- Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year, and Tuesday to Sunday between May 14 and July 13.
- The gallery is open from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm (until 5:30 pm from November 1 to March 31).
- Last admission is at 5:45 pm (4:45 pm from November 1 to March 31).
Versailles Gardens
- Monday to Sunday: 8 am to 8:30 pm (until 6 pm from November 1 to March 31).
- Last admission is at 7 pm (until 4:30 pm from November 1 to March 31).
Palace Park
- Monday to Sunday: 7 am to 8:30 pm (from 8 am to 6 pm from November 1 to March 31).
- Last admission is at 7:45 pm (5:30 pm from November 1 to March 31).

Free Admission
On the first Sunday of every month, between November and March, admission to the entire site (including the Palace of Versailles and the Trianon) is free. However, to visit the Palace, you'll need to book a time slot in advance, while the Trianon is free to visit.
People with disabilities or those under 26 years of age residing in the EU or under 18 years of age from outside the EU can access certain areas free of charge. For this type of ticket, we recommend visiting the official Versailles website directly.
Admission for EEA Citizens
During the booking process, you must select the correct option:
- Admission for EU citizens and EEA citizens (European Economic Area)
- Admission for non-EU citizens and non-EEA citizens (European Economic Area)
Citizens of the EEA (European Economic Area) can enjoy a ticket at a reduced price. The EEA is formed by a total of 30 countries: 27 countries from the European Union, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.
If you purchase this ticket for EEA citizens, you may need to show a justification of residency or nationality at the entrance.
