At the designated time, we'll begin our free walking tour of Valladolid at a central meeting point in the city on the Pisuerga River. Let's go!
During the tour, we'll pass by emblematic places such as the Plaza Mayor, one of the city's main squares, where the Monument to Count Ansúrez is located. Did you know he was the main driving force behind Valladolid's development?
On our walk, we'll also stop at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, whose exterior architecture showcases the characteristics of Herrerian architecture.
Just a stone's throw away from the cathedral, we'll see the Church of Saint Mary the Ancient from the outside, notable for its famous Romanesque tower. It's a true symbol of Valladolid!
Throughout the tour, we'll also discover other iconic places, such as the Pasaje Gutiérrez and the Colegio de San Gregorio, home to the National Sculpture Museum. This museum houses the finest collection of polychrome sculpture in Spain. Although we won't go inside, we will admire its beautiful façade, a prime example of the Isabelline Gothic style.
We will also stop at Plaza de San Pablo, where three unique buildings stand: the Royal Palace, the Church of San Pablo, and the Palacio de Pimentel, the seat of the Valladolid Provincial Council.
Finally, after a tour of between 1.5 and 1 hour and 45 minutes, we'll conclude this free walking tour of Valladolid in the old town.
