Like walking in nature? On this day trip to Montanejos, we'll explore a thermal village in Castellón, where we'll take a hike and go for a swim in the natural spa pools in the Fuente de los Baños.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet at the indicated time on Calle Ramón Llull, 21. From this meeting point in Valencia, we'll head north.

After a journey of around 1.5 hours, we'll arrive in Montanejos, a beautiful thermal town in the area of Alto Mijares, in the province of Castellón.

Once there, we'll take a short stroll through the town to see the Fuente de los Baños spa pools. The water here stays at a temperature of 23ºC (73ºF) all year round. Plus, the water is full of minerals that are relaxing and beneficial for your health. Although it comes from natural origins, according to a legend, the Muslim King Abu Zeit ordered these pools to be built to keep his wives beautiful.

Afterwards, we'll begin a hiking route to discover the spectacular natural landscape of the area. For 4 hours, we'll walk around the edge of the River Mijares. The route will first take us to Cueva Negra, a huge cave of great geological interest. Did you know that it's one of the most outstanding caves in the Valencian Community?

Along the route on foot, we'll also enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery surrounding Montanejos, such as the Mijares Canyon or the Cirat Dam.

We'll conclude this hiking route at the Fuente de los Baños spa pools, where you'll have 1.5 hours of free time in the natural pools, perfect for taking a dip. You can also take this time to eat any snacks that you've brought with you.

Finally, we'll meet back up and walk back to the centre of Montanejos. From here, we'll take you back to the meeting point in Valencia, where we'll end this 8.5-hour day trip.
