Tour Details
Would you like to discover one of the most inspirational and beautiful towns on the Costa Brava? At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Tossa de Mar Tourist Office to begin a guided tour through 2,000 years of history in a town that has captivated many great artists.
First, we'll visit the Vila Romana del Ametllers, discovered in the early 20th century, which was one of the most important cities in ancient Tarraco. We'll explore the town's Roman past while observing the different elements that make up the area.
From here, we'll head to the historic center of Tossa de Mar, where the walled Vila Vella awaits us. Built in the early 13th century to protect the population from pirate attacks, did you know that it is the only example of a fortified medieval town on the Catalan coast?
We’ll trace the evolution of Tossa de Mar as we explore the wall’s towers. Additionally, we’ll wander through the narrow streets of Vila Vella until we reach the old Church of San Vicente, a late Gothic temple situated on a promontory offering unparalleled views.
After 2 hours of touring, we’ll conclude the visit at this final point, wrapping up our guided tour of Tossa de Mar.
