At the designated time, we'll meet at the Piazza Angelina Lauro, number 27 to leave Sorrento behind and begin this day trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum. We'll visit two of the world's most important archeological sites. Are you ready for a blast to the past?
Our first stop will be Pompeii. Once we arrive, we'll explore the streets, temples, and villas of this Roman city perfectly preserved under the volcanic ashes. You'll see the Forum, the thermal baths, the Lupanar, and the famous houses with frescoes, as you discover how daily life was like before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 A.C.
After this fascinating tour, we'll rest so you can grab a bite to eat for lunch at a local restaurant. It's time to revitalize to continue our day trip toward Herculaneum!
Unlike Pompeii, Herculaneum was buried under a layer of volcanic mud, which allowed an exceptional preservation of its frescoes, mosaics, and artifacts. When we arrive, we'll explore its streets and admire the House of the Deer, the thermal baths, and the stunning complex of the Forum.
Finally, we'll start our journey back to Sorrento, where we'll conclude this 8-hour day trip.
