History and gastronomy come together in this Canarian wine tasting. In an 18th-century house located in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, we'll sample different varieties accompanied by local products such as cheeses and papas arrugadas.
Activity Details
We'll meet at the scheduled time at 25 Imeldo Serís Street. In this central spot in Santa Cruz de Tenerife is La Cuadra del Palmero, an 18th-century Canarian house converted into a restaurant.
First, we'll take a short tour of the house, whose decoration is inspired by all the islands of the Canary archipelago. The house has three floors, several lounges, a beautiful patio, and a carving of the Virgin of Our Lady of the Snows, patron saint of the island of La Palma.
After this tour, we'll enjoy a tasting of three Canarian wines with Designation of Origin (DO). We’ll sample highly regarded varieties such as the fruity white Flor de Chasna, the traditional white Viña Zanata, and the red Marba, which has the DO Tacoronte-Acentejo of Tenerife.
To accompany the wines, we'll serve grilled goat cheese with gofio and honey, Canarian-style tortilla with almogrote, wrinkled potatoes with mojo, and a small sandwich of black pork with mojo. Those preferring a vegetarian option can choose roasted eggplant with palm honey. To finish the tasting, we’ll enjoy another Canarian cheese.
