Fall in love with northern Portugal! On this cruise along the Douro River, we'll head to Porto from Peso da Régua as we enjoy a delicious lunch. For our return, we'll take the train or a bus.
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll begin a peaceful cruise along the Douro River setting sail from the port in Peso da Régua.
During the crossing through this area of northern Portugal, we'll be able to admire a beautiful green landscape dotted with terraced vineyards from the boat's panoramic deck. Of course, the local climate is perfect for wine growing. And no wonder, since the grapes from these vineyards are used to produce the famous Port wines.
Throughout the cruise, we'll also pass by highlights of the Douro Valley, such as the Carrapatelo and Crestuma–Lever Dams. Additionally, halfway through the crossing, we'll serve you a delicious lunch on board including various Portuguese gastronomic specialities. The perfect opportunity to taste local dishes and wines!
After about a 6-hour cruise along the Douro River, we'll dock in Porto, where you'll have around 1.5 hours of free time to explore the city centre at your leisure. We recommend talking a walk through the Ribeira area, where you'll see the famous Dom Luís I Bridge. The old town is also worth a visit, where you can visit top landmarks such as the cathedral or the Torre dos Clérigos.
Finally, we'll meet again in the centre of Porto and we'll head to the station, where we'll take a train that will take us, in approximately 2 hours, to Peso da Régua. At its final point, we'll conclude this 10.5-hour activity.

During the cruise to Porto, you'll enjoy the following menu:

- Starter: cream of vegetable soup
- Main course: roast pork loin with roast potatoes, rice and vegetables.
- Dessert: chocolate semifreddo
