Have you ever seen pictures of men dressed all in white spinning around without stopping? This is the Dervish dance, a traditional dance of the Order of Mevlevi, the most well-known of Sufism. However, this ceremony is much more than just the show, since the soul of the man reaches the sky in his search to make contact with Allah.
The Whirling Dervish dance is over 700 years old. Men spin in circles until they reach ecstasy, all while a particular musical soundtrack is playing.
For 1 hour, you'll witness the magic of this show in one of the most special ceremonies in Turkey. Plus, the building where the show takes place is an old medieval dwelling where sellers who arrived in Pamukkale would stay.
