At the scheduled time, we'll meet up on Basin Street, to begin our fantastic tour of the nearby St. Louis Cemetery. Immediately upon setting eyes on the famous New Orleans graveyard, you'll discover why this is such a special location.
Once inside, we'll marvel at the endless rows of tombs and graves rubbing shoulder to shoulder, fighting for space. This is a scene far removed from the normally well-ordered North American cemeteries. The chaos of the St. Louis cemetery, just like New Orleans itself, seems taken from a different continent and a different era.
During the guided tour, you'll see the tombs of some famous, and infamous, characters from the city's history. One of the most feared figures of New Orleans rests here, Marie Laveau.
