Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the car park of the Parque dos Condes de Monforte de Lemos and begin our adventure to admire the peculiar vineyard landscapes of the Ribeira del Miño.
First of all, we'll visit the Ferreira de Pantón Monastery, one of the best examples of Romanesque architecture in the Ribeira Sacra, which has been inhabited by nuns since the 10th century.
We'll continue our tour by approaching the church of San Paio de Diomondi, a jewel of the 12th century. Its Romanesque architecture will take you straight back to medieval times. Did you know that it hides inscriptions on its walls that reveal part of its history? We'll show them to you!
The next stop will take us to the church of Santo Estevo de Ribas do Miño, located in a natural viewpoint with incredible views of the Minho River. From here, we can perfectly observe the steep slopes full of vineyards and the meandering course of the river.
At this point of the tour, we'll surely have worked up an appetite, so we'll make a stop for you to get yourself some lunch. Feeling refuelled, we'll take a 2-hour boat trip on the Minho River where we'll continue to learn about the well-known viticulture, the hallmark of the Ribeira Sacra.
To finish this route along the Ribeira do Minho, we'll visit the Cabo do Mundo viewpoint, from where we'll have spectacular views of the meander that the river has created over the years.
Finally, after an 8-hour tour, we'll return to the starting point in Monforte de Lemos.
