Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Piazza IV Novembre to begin this day trip to Genoa from Milan. After exploring the city, we'll sail to Portofino to admire the Italian Riviera—the perfect combination!
The journey to Genoa will last about 2 hours. Once we arrive, we'll take a tour of Italy's biggest port city. Did you know that it's known for its rich maritime history and impressive architecture?
We'll walk around the city's historic centre, starting in the Carignano district in the direction of the Old Port. On the route, we'll see some of Genoa's most important sights, such as the Piazza de Ferrari with its impressive fountain, the iconic Doge's Palace or Genoa Cathedral.
We'll also pass the famous Christopher Columbus House, where the navigator is thought to have lived during his early years, and finally arrive at the Old Port. This area is full of restaurants and attractions such as the Genoa Aquarium or the Bigo panoramic lift.
After the tour, you'll have 2 hours of free time to refuel with lunch and continue discovering Genoa at your own pace. In the afternoon, we'll travel by bus to the picturesque town of Santa Margherita Ligure. Here, we'll board a private boat, just for our group, for a ride to the glamorous seaside town of Portofino—its colourful houses, elegant boutiques and stunning harbour will charm you!
Next, you'll have an hour of free time to explore Portofino and visit the church of San Giorgio, take a stroll along the harbour or simply enjoy the breathtaking views. Finally, we'll meet up again for the return journey to Milan.
After a total of 13 hours, we'll be back in Milan's Piazza IV Novembre.
