Discover the spectacular island of La Gomera, home to one of the most impressive nature reserves in the Canary Islands, on this day trip from South Tenerife.
La Gomera Island Day Trip
After being picked up at your hotel in the south of Tenerife, we'll head to Los Cristianos Ferry Terminal. From here, we'll board a comfortable ferry to La Gomera, which will take approximately 35 to 50 minutes. Once there, we'll disembark at San Sebastián de La Gomera, the capital of the neighbouring island.
As soon as you disembark, we'll take a bus to the interior of the islet. On the journey, we'll admire La Gomera’s distinct landscape and Roque de Agando, a surprising volcanic formation and one of the island’s most famous landmarks. The scenery surrounding this rock formation, which stands over 1,000 meters above sea level, is breathtaking. Upon arrival at Garajonay National Park, you'll follow your professional guide into its green forests and discover its autochthonous plants and wildlife. In the park, we'll visit the Laguna Grande (Large Lagoon). Although it is called a lagoon, it is not a lake, but an enormous open space home to numerous mysterious stories and legends. Enjoy some free time to discover this spot at your own leisure.
After leaving Garajonay behind, we'll head to the north of the island. We'll stop at the beautiful village of Hermigua and the town of Agulo. Here, we'll indulge in a delicious traditional lunch.
Depending on the option you choose, we'll continue our day trip by heading to the impressive Vallehermoso viewpoint, where you can take stunning pictures.
Then, we'll drive to the south of the island to take a short guided tour of San Sebastián de La Gomera. Your guide will reveal the story of Christopher Columbus, who stopped here on his way to discover South America. You'll also learn about the history of the 15th-century fortress, Torre del Conde, one of the oldest historic monuments in the capital of La Gomera.
After the tour, we'll return to the port and hop back on the ferry to return to Tenerife. We'll dock at the Los Cristianos Ferry Terminal, and from there, you'll be driven back to your hotel. Arrival is 9 to 12 hours after pickup.
