At the indicated time, we'll meet at Casina Spezzaferri, a charming rural farm surrounded by vineyards and historic gardens, right in the heart of Valle della Cupa, just 10 minutes from Lecce. Ready to start this wine adventure?
First, we'll enjoy a stroll through the vineyards, where we'll learn about the fascinating history of Salento's native grape varieties. During our approximately 1-hour walk, we'll explore the gardens that surround the farm. Depending on the season, you'll be able to participate in a wild herb hunt, discovering local plants and trees full of history.
We'll continue with a visit to the old wine production site, annexed to the main farmhouse. Here, traditional tools are still in full working order. This setting will be the perfect backdrop for a wine tasting led by Giorgia, the owner, oenologist and professional sommelier. We'll taste three wines from the region while discovering the secrets of local viticulture and the gastronomic culture of Salento.
The tasting will be accompanied by an apéritif consisting of selected typical products, such as fresh cheeses, orange marmalade from the farm's gardens and taralli, among other traditional delicacies.
Finally, we'll say goodbye after about 2 hours in total.
