On our Tenerife Snorkelling & Sea Turtle Watching activity, we'll explore the diverse marine ecosystem around the island and see how one of the ocean's most extraordinary animals behaves.
At 9 am, we'll meet at the Port of Las Galletas and board a Zodiac-type boat. The boat will take us to an area where we can snorkel and observe sea turtles.
We'll pass by the Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve with a beautiful volcanic landscape that we'll be able to admire from the sea. Once an expert instructor has given us some tips on how to move smoothly in the water, we can get our snorkelling gear on and jump into the Atlantic Ocean.
Keep your eyes peeled for the loggerhead and green turtles swimming peacefully in the water! These incredible animals can grow to over 3 feet long (1 metre), which you may even be able to see for yourself!
During the activity, we may also see shoals of white seabream, bogas and other species of fish that are often seen around Tenerife's beautiful seabed.
It'll then be time to head back to the starting point, where we'll arrive at around 11 am.
The coast of Tenerife is one of the best places in the Canary Islands for spotting sea turtles. However, animals are unpredictable. While there is a very high probability of spotting sea turtles, this can't be 100% guaranteed as these animals are in the wild.
The activity will be carried out in a way that respects the animals. We'll have small groups and be considerate of the marine environment.
