Day Trip Details
If you’re in Krakow, one place you shouldn’t miss is Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest complex of Nazi Germany’s concentration camps. At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and head to this site, which will help you learn about and reflect on this tragic chapter in world history during the 20th century.
We’ll do this Auschwitz-Birkenau day trip in a small group of up to 12 people. We’ll travel to the town of Oświęcim, where this extermination center was built, in which more than 1 million people were murdered. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to see the outdoor exhibits.
Afterward, we’ll meet again and enter the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, where we’ll see the barracks, latrines, railway tracks with the old train cars that arrived filled with prisoners, and the remains of the crematoria and gas chambers. We’ll also pass under the iconic “Arbeit Macht Frei” sign, which means “work sets you free,” and stands at the entrance to the camp.
After learning how the “Final Solution” was carried out under Nazi orders to systematically exterminate Europe’s Jewish population, we’ll return to the bus and head back to Krakow.
We’ll end the day trip at your hotel 7.5 hours later.
Important Info
Before booking, please keep the following in mind:
Documentation
- The first and last names listed on the reservation must match the national ID documents you present on the day of the activity. If they do not match, you'll be denied entry. If you make separate reservations, you may not be assigned to the same group or vehicle.
- Tickets are non-transferable, and only one change per reservation is allowed. This change may affect no more than 10% of the participants.
Guide
- Visits to the camp may only be conducted by guides authorized by the camp itself, not by external guides. The assignment of guides and their languages is determined exclusively by the camp’s organization, and in some cases, the visit may include translation into the selected language. The pace and duration are determined by the camp itself and may be shortened due to extreme weather conditions (heat waves or storms).
- All tour operators require a minimum group size to gain access to the field with a guide; therefore, if this minimum is not met, the activity may be canceled or rescheduled.
- The field confirms the guide at 3 pm on the day before the tour, so the reservation is not confirmed until a guide has been assigned by the field. On our end, we reserve entry slots and a guide as soon as the minimum group size is reached; however, in the case of last-minute reservations, guides may not be available, and the activity could be canceled. We remind you of the importance of being easily reachable at the phone number provided in the reservation in case of any changes.
Schedule
The pickup time is subject to change. The tour can begin between 5 am and 1:30 pm; the time selected on the website is not guaranteed. The exact pickup time or meeting point will be communicated the day before the tour via email, WhatsApp, and other available means. If the departure time changes, we will contact you. Otherwise, the originally scheduled time will remain the same. Please plan your day so that it accommodates the pickup time. Transportation will be by bus or minibus, depending on the size of the group.
