Tarifa & Baelo Claudia Tour
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your chosen bus stop in Jerez de la Frontera and follow the route along the Costa de la Luz.
We'll meet at the bus stop at the traffic circle on Puerto Street and make our way south, leaving behind Jerez de la Frontera. One of the most beautiful routes of the coast of Cadiz awaits us: the Costa del Atún (Tuna Coast).
Our first stop will be Bolonia Beach, where we'll visit one of the most important archaeological sites in Cádiz, Baelo Claudia, a site of Roman ruins. In this ancient enclave dating back to the 2nd century, we'll see the vestiges that still remain of the factory of salted fish and garum sauce, highly appreciated in antiquity.
Next, we'll visit Tarifa, which is famous for being the southernmost city in Western Europe, located along the Strait of Gibraltar. We'll tour the city's old town and admire the architecture of monuments, including the St. Matthew the Apostle Parish and the Guzmán el Bueno Castle. Following on, you'll have 1.5-2 hours free for lunch. Take the opportunity to try out the delicious tuna dishes!
Finally, we'll travel to Zahara de los Atunes, where we'll stop to stroll along the remains of its wall and enjoy the fascinating landscape offered by its beach, one of the most beautiful in Andalusia. The perfect ending to this comprehensive tour of Cadiz!
In the afternoon, we'll depart from Tarifa to return to Jerez de la Frontera, arriving around 10 hours after we started.
