On this tour of Eyüp, we'll explore one of the most historic neighborhoods in Istanbul. Plus, you'll visit the Basilica Cistern, one of the city's most emblematic monuments.

During the booking process, you can choose between different options, which depend on the time you have to discover the charms of Istanbul.
4-Hour Tour
First, we'll visit the stunning Basilica Cistern. This ancient underground water reservoir from the Byzantine Empire is famous for its 336 columns and magical atmosphere. Can you imagine what the purpose of this place was? We'll tell you all about it there as we share the different uses it had during the Roman era and the Ottoman Empire.
After exploring this monument, we'll learn about the historic Eyüp Sultan Mosque, an important site for Muslims and one of the oldest mosques in Istanbul. It'll be the perfect place to admire and learn about the Islamic architecture.
Next, we'll stop at Café Pierre Loti, named in honor of the famous French author. This site, located on Pierre Loti Hill, will be the perfect spot to enjoy the stunning scenic views of the Golden Horn.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes at the Eyüp Sultan Teleferik tram station.
8-Hour Tour
If you have more time in the city and want to enhance your experience even more, this tour option is perfect for you. In this case, the first 4 hours will follow the same itinerary previously described.
Then, after enjoying the scenic views of the Golden Horn from Pierre Loti Hill, you'll have about 1 hour of free time to eat and try a dish of Turkish cuisine. When making your reservation, you can also choose the option that includes lunch. In this case, you’ll enjoy a meal featuring börek, soups, pasta, meat, chicken, or vegetables. It also includes dessert and water.
After lunch, we'll explore the neighborhood of Fener to visit the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, the spiritual center of the Orthodox Church. Here, you'll discover this site's rich history and religious significance. We'll also pass by the neighborhood of Balat, known for its colorful streets and buildings.
Finally, the tour will conclude at the Fener tram station.
