If you're in Hurghada and you want to visit Cairo, don't miss this day trip by bus to visit the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Take a journey back in time!
We'll begin our day trip with pickup at 2 am from your hotel in Hurghada, from where we'll travel by bus to Cairo. We'll take a road trip of just under 5 hours to reach the most famous pyramids in the world.
Our first stop will be the Giza Plateau, where we'll set our eyes on the Great Pyramid of Giza. Did you know that it's the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that still stands, alongside the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure? We'll tell you all the details of these enormous stone constructions before heading to see another of the treasures of the Egyptian capital.
Next, we'll find ourselves in front of the legendary Great Sphinx of Giza! The guardian of these majestic monuments will welcome us with its height of about 20 metres (65 ft). There, we'll tell you all the curiosities and mysteries surrounding this sculpture with a human head and the body of a lion. Next to the Sphinx is the Temple of the Valley, where the ancient Egyptians prepared the pharaohs for their journey to the afterlife.
Feeling peckish? Next, we'll enjoy a traditional lunch before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum, the most modern and impressive in the entire country. Feeling refuelled, we'll visit a collection with over 100,000 pieces, including the treasures of Tutankhamun and other unique items from the Egyptian civilisation.
After a day full of history and culture, we'll begin the return journey to your hotel in Hurghada, where we'll say goodbye after a total of 19 hours.
