Aquarium Zones
Once you enter the Downtown Aquarium Houston with your ticket, you’ll be free to explore the venue’s 5 themed zones:
- Louisiana Swamp: you’ll get up close to the animals that inhabit coastal swamps and wetlands. You’ll observe dwarf alligators, American freshwater turtles, fish such as spotted gar, crayfish, catfish, and the large American bullfrog, among other species.
- Sunken Ship: In this area, the visit takes you inside a 17th-century Spanish galleon that sank. From there, you’ll be able to observe coral reefs, giant octopuses, anemones, and starfish.
- Tropical Rainforest: you’ll venture into the heart of the lush tropical rainforest, discovering the creatures that live in its rivers. Including macaws, red-bellied sawfish, green tree pythons, and Amazon poison dart frogs.
- Silent Temple: one of the aquarium’s most magical and mysterious areas, where the beauty and calm of the surroundings will captivate you.
