Taste the best of Rioja Alavesa with this guided tour of the Heras Cordón winery with wine tasting. Complete the experience with a tasting menu with the best dishes of the region.
Heras Cordon Winery Tour
We'll meet at the entrance to the Heras Cordón Winery.
Then we'll begin our guided tour through the facilities of these vineyards, whose origin dates back to the 19th century. It was then when they began the first works and dug into the ground, to start a small wine production, oriented to the consumption of local families in the Rioja Alavesa.
The winemaking company grew over the years, overcoming great obstacles such as the Civil War, until it reached a great commercial and industrial expansion at the end of the last century. In the 1990s, several reforms and works were undertaken that gave rise to the winery that we can see today.
We'll tour its modern facilities accompanied by an expert winemaker who will explain the winemaking process, the particularities of each variety and the best way to taste it.
During the tour, we'll also see the legacy of those early years, through old barrels, long stone corridors and even a large door, brought from a cloistered monastery in Segovia in ruins and restored to give the best welcome to all who visit the facilities.
When we finish our guided tour of the Heras Cordón winery, it'll be time for the wine tasting. We'll enjoy the best wines of the region, all accompanied by our oenologist guide and also by local products, such as homemade sausages or cheeses. Cheers!
