At the indicated time, we’ll meet at Freiburg Minster, in the heart of Freiburg. From there, we’ll head straight into the festive atmosphere of the Freiburg Christmas Market, located in the bustling Marktplatz.
First opened in 1973, this market has over 120 stalls, offering a wide variety of crafts and delicious treats every year. As soon as we step into the market, we'll be captivated by the warm glow of thousands of twinkling Christmas lights, illuminating the picturesque streets of the old town.
As we stroll through the cosy wooden stalls, we'll see a variety of goods to buy, from handmade candles and pottery to beautifully carved wooden toys and unique Christmas decorations. Of course, the market is also full of local treats! We'll enjoy a glass of traditional mulled wine to warm us up. If you fancy a snack, there's plenty to choose from—whether it’s grilled sausages, roasted chestnuts, or other delicious regional specialities.
For the little ones, the market has craft workshops where you can create your own Christmas gifts to take home. As well as that, live music and choirs singing carols echo through the streets, adding to the magic of the season.
After 2 hours of exploring the market and soaking in the festive spirit, we’ll wrap up our tour in the Marktplatz.
