On this excursion to Pamukkale and Hierapolis, we'll visit two of Turkey's World Heritage Sites. We'll see the fascinating natural travertine terraces and the ruins of a sacred city.
We'll pick you up at your hotel in Ephesus to discover two of Turkey's treasures: Pamukkale and Hierapolis. A day full of culture and history awaits you!
The excursion will start by visiting Hierapolis, a Hellenistic archaeological site located on a plateau. Then, we'll walk past some of the most important buildings of the time in this sacred city, such as the Temple of Apollo, the Theater, and the Necropolis. We'll also see the Roman baths, the Domitian Gate, and the Byzantine Gate.
Next, we'll move on to the famous white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, where thermal springs rich in minerals such as calcium flow. Did you know that Pamukkale means "cotton castle"?
After visiting these two World Heritage Sites, we'll stop for lunch at a restaurant. Then, we'll leave you free time at Cleopatra's Pool, where you can take a relaxing swim.
Finally, we'll return to Ephesus and take you back to the pickup point, where we'll arrive at 8:30 pm.
