Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll depart from the chosen meeting point and head inland to visit two of the province's most beautiful white villages in a small group of no more than 12 people.
Our first stop will be Conil de la Frontera. Upon arrival, we'll explore the fascinating history of this village, which was once the border between kingdoms. You'll learn about the defensive origins of the Torre de Guzmán, which we'll climb to enjoy a panoramic view, and the Almohad heritage in the Barrio de las Flores, with its whitewashed houses and flower-filled courtyards.
We'll also discover the deep-rooted culture of almadraba tuna fishing, from the ronqueo, its traditional cutting, to the ancient Garum sauce from Roman times. To learn more, we'll visit the Tuna Interpretation Centre and the Raíces Conileñas House Museum. After visiting the old prison and other emblematic sites, you'll have free time in Conil.
Our journey will continue to Playa del Palmar, a 7 km (4.3 mi) stretch of wild paradise famous for surfing and its sunsets. We'll take a short break to enjoy a coffee or soft drink while we gaze out at the ocean.
Our last stop will be Vejer de la Frontera, one of the most beautiful white villages in Andalusia. Entering through the Puerta de La Segur gate, we'll uncover myths and legends: the mystery of the Star of David in the Church of the Divine Saviour, and the enigma of the cistern in the Castle of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia. We'll learn about the history of Lala Al-Zhora, founder of Chaouen, and that of Juan Relinque and the Hazas de Suerte. A story that will fascinate you!
