Fancy spending a day at the beach outside Barcelona? On this day trip to Tossa de Mar, we'll take you to one of the Costa Brava's most popular destinations, where you can sunbathe and take a dip in its crystal-clear waters.
At the indicated time, we'll depart from the Estació del Nord bus station in Barcelona, heading to Costa Brava, the coastline of the province of Gerona.
After a 1.5-hour journey, we'll arrive at the famous tourist town of Tossa de Mar. Once there, we'll have a 45-minute guided tour in which we'll take a walk from the Playa Grande beach to the spectacular walled enclosure of the town. Next to it is the Tossa lighthouse, from the foot of which we'll enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the coast.
Having admired the scenery, we'll start the descent from Vila Vella, the upper part of the town, to the picturesque narrow streets of the seaside district of Tossa. Once there, you'll have 5 hours of free time to stroll around, take a dip in the Mediterranean Sea, go shopping and enjoy the exquisite gastronomy of the area.
Highlights in the old town include the church of San Vicente, the Torre de Can Magí and the Roman villa of Tossa. If you want to take a dip, in addition to the Playa Grande beach, Playa Mar Menuda beach is also worth a visit. Between the two there is a pleasant promenade with a multitude of restaurants where you can eat or have a drink.
Finally, we'll meet up again in the centre of Tossa to return to the meeting point in Barcelona, where we'll conclude this 9-hour day trip.
