Athens Private Walking Tour
At the designated time, your guide will meet you at your hotel in Athens. Ready to explore this historic city in the most intimate and comfortable way?
Before the tour, your guide will get in touch to talk through your interests and put together an itinerary tailored to you. Whether you're drawn to ancient history, local food, or simply wandering the streets where everyday Athenian life unfolds, the route is yours to shape.
Together, you'll take in the exteriors of the city's most emblematic monuments and museums while your guide brings the history and culture of Athens to life. You'll also head beyond the famous landmarks into lively neighborhoods and hidden corners, wandering through areas such as Anafiotika, with its whitewashed island-style houses tucked beneath the Acropolis, the buzzing streets of Psyrri, and the alternative, art-filled Exarchia.
Along the way, you'll soak up the atmosphere of local markets, discover family-run tavernas serving Greek specialties, and come across artisan workshops, street art, and neighborhood traditions that most visitors walk straight past. Your guide will share stories about Athenian culture, daily life, and the people who give the city its character.
At the end of the tour, which lasts 2, 3, 4, 6, or 8 hours depending on the option you choose, your guide will leave you with plenty of local recommendations for the rest of your stay.
Acropolis + Museum Private Tour
At the designated time, your guide will meet you at your accommodation in Athens and take you to the Acropolis, the ancient citadel perched high above the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
To begin our 2-hour Acropolis tour, we'll enter through the Propylaea, the monumental gateway built in the 5th century BCE, whose grand columns and marble structures set the tone for the splendor waiting inside. Just to the right stands the Temple of Athena Nike, a small but elegant Ionic temple honoring Athena as the goddess of victory.
At the heart of the site, we'll come face to face with the Parthenon, the most recognizable symbol of ancient Greece. Dedicated to Athena Parthenos, patron goddess of the city, it remains a masterclass in classical architecture and sculptural decoration.
On the northern side, we'll explore the Erechtheion, a temple unlike any other on the rock, known for its asymmetrical design and the multiple shrines it once housed. Its most famous feature is the Porch of the Caryatids, where six sculpted female figures serve as columns supporting the structure. Throughout the visit, we'll stop to take in the panoramic views over Athens from the top of the Acropolis rock, perfect for photos you won't forget.
Finally, we'll head over to the fascinating Acropolis Museum, where we'll find stunningly preserved artifacts. We'll spend about an hour exploring and learning about Greek History.
After a total of 3 hours, our deep dive into ancient Greek history will come to an end at the museum.
Meeting Point
If your accommodation is outside the city center, we'll arrange a convenient meeting point in the center instead. Please also note that the tour may finish at a different location from where it began.
