At the designated time, we'll meet at the Piazza Porta Terra to begin our night tour of Alghero and discover its historic center. Let's go!
We'll first stop at the feet of the Torre di Porta, the only visible remnant today of the ancient walls that protected the city from within. Then, we'll head toward the Forte della Maddalena, a defensive structure from the 16th century named after the statue that once occupied a niche in the bastion.
After crossing the Piazza Civica, we'll reach the Piazza del Duomo, where you'll admire the spectacular Cathedral of St. Mary the Immaculate from both outside and inside. Then, we'll continue exploring the Jewish Quarter, located within the ancient walls of the city.
Our next stop will be at the Coral Aquarium. It's the only live coral aquarium in Europe that is open to the public. We’ll be guided by a marine biologist who will explain everything about the marine protected area, including the coral cultivation process.
To wrap up our tour on a high note, we'll take part in a tasting of two regional wines in a bistro in the historic city center. Cheers!
