Let yourself be won over by the flavors and aromas of Galician cooking on this food tour of A Coruña, visiting the city's market and its best-known tapas streets.
Tapas Tour Through A Coruña
We'll begin this food tour in Plaza de Lugo, where we'll visit the popular Mercado de Abastos, one of the great emblems of the city.
We'll walk through its interior, taking in the stalls selling seafood, meat, vegetables, and fish. We'll talk about local produce and discover which ingredients are most in demand here.
Leaving the market behind, we'll take a stroll through the streets of central A Coruña. Along the way, we'll talk about the city's deep-rooted tapas culture and stop at a local bar for a tapa and a drink, with several options to choose from.
Our tapas route takes us first to Calle Galera and Calle Estrella. We'll find out which tapas these streets are best known for, and which restaurants and bars in the area are worth seeking out.
We'll talk about Galician wines and their importance to the local table as we make our way to another well-known tapas area: Plaza de María Pita. From there, we'll walk along the Avenida de la Marina and pass through a neighborhood famous for its wines.
Finally, after a route lasting 1 hour and 40 minutes, we'll finish the tour beside a restaurant in the old town of A Coruña, where you can carry on enjoying the city's excellent Galician cooking at your own pace.
